Tri-State Charities

The mission of Tri-State Charities is to support veterans and children in need through event production and community engagement. Tri-State Charities was founded by Scott Sharp of Ashland, Kentucky whom is a honorably discharged Army veteran and local county representative for the state of Kentucky. Scott is passionate about helping those in need around him and wants to see our region prosper through community engagement and community building. One of the organizations that we will be supporting from the funds raised from this event is the iBelieve Foundation.

The iBELIEVE Foundation provides equitable and inclusive access to experiential opportunities for Appalachian youth to learn and continue to develop the skills, behaviors, and attitudes necessary for success in high school and beyond, and was created in 2011. Initially, the foundation sponsored students to attend Summer Leadership Workshops hosted by the Ohio Association of Student Councils. In 2012, iBELIEVE began hosting their own workshops and added additional weeks and college sites to accommodate the growing numbers of participants.

Today, over 2500 students have benefited from their premier summer workshop experience. The organization’s growth, through the generous donations of many corporations and individuals, also allowed for the addition of year round programming and expansion into all 32 Appalachian counties in Ohio, as well as parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. Our hope is to inspire leadership that results in positive change - in our schools, our communities, our region, and the world.

The iBELIEVE Foundation holds a 501(c)3 nonprofit status. The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio serves as our fiscal agent.
